The Clive of India Suite
This suite sleeps up to 3 adults.
The suite measures 7.6m by 4m (25′ by 13′). Here you will find a King sized double bed made from Burr Mahogany and dating from 1820. There is also an 1890 King sized Rosewood single bed and a modern sofa. Matching bedside cabinets, bedside lamps, writing table, chest of drawers and wardrobe doors have been lovingly sourced and commissioned from India whilst on holidays and are made from solid walnut. They are all highly carved, depicting elephants, flowers and pomegranates. There is also an original Victorian GWR Station Master’s Chair. On the walls are modern embroidery pictures of the Taj Mahal, elephants and a bird, all resembling medieval stump work and a “jewelled” rug. For your comfort are thermostatically controlled radiators, a 32″ flat screen tv and tea/ coffee making facilities. There is also space for a travelling cot.
Leading off the bedroom is a large wetroom with shower. This contains a highly decorated Victorian style toilet and sink. There are grab rails by the toilet and by the shower for less mobile guests and a shower chair. There is also a radiator, a heated towel rail and a shaving socket (240/115v) with mirror.
